Feature adoption

Feature adoption

Adoption is more than a first click. Teams often separate awareness, first use, repeated use, and depth of use, then compare these stages across segments and cohorts. Eligibility matters: users who cannot access a feature should not be in the denominator. Strong adoption analysis also connects feature use to outcomes such as retention, productivity, revenue, or satisfaction.

What is Feature adoption?

Feature adoption measures how many eligible users begin using a feature and continue using it meaningfully.

Why it matters

Adoption is more than a first click. Teams often separate awareness, first use, repeated use, and depth of use, then compare these stages across segments and cohorts. Eligibility matters: users who cannot access a feature should not be in the denominator. Strong adoption analysis also connects feature use to outcomes such as retention, productivity, revenue, or satisfaction.

Example

Of 10,000 customers with access to a reporting feature, 3,000 try it and 1,800 use it again within 30 days.
