Self-hosted analytics

Self-hosted analytics

Self-hosting can support data control, private networking, custom retention, regional requirements, and integration with internal systems. It also requires operational capacity for upgrades, scaling, security, backups, availability, and monitoring. Self-hosted may run on-premise or in the customer’s cloud account, so the terms are related but not identical.

What is Self-hosted analytics?

Self-hosted analytics is analytics software deployed in infrastructure selected and controlled by the customer rather than operated entirely as a vendor-managed SaaS service.

Why it matters

Self-hosting can support data control, private networking, custom retention, regional requirements, and integration with internal systems. It also requires operational capacity for upgrades, scaling, security, backups, availability, and monitoring. Self-hosted may run on-premise or in the customer’s cloud account, so the terms are related but not identical.

Example

A company deploys its analytics platform in a private cloud account and manages the database, network rules, upgrades, and backup policy.
